Nonetheless, bedwetting is not your kid’s fault. That is why you must not banish the blame on your child. Keep in mind that your child will soon overcome bedwetting.

On the other hand, as parents, you must know how to deal with the wet mattress after your child wets his bed. Let us share with you some of our mattress cleaning services tips for washing off your child’s wee-wee.

How to Deal with Your Kid’s Bedwetting?

Understandably, you are frustrated about this. Probably, because it happened a couple of times in the past, but relax. You are not alone since other parents are in the same situation as you are right now.

To help you deal with the wet mattress after your kid wets the bed, here are the pointers you need to remember.

Before start cleaning the mattress, you would need to prepare the following first:

  • ✓ An empty spray bottle
  • ✓ Baking Soda
  • ✓ Clean Towels
  • ✓ Cold water
  • ✓ Distilled White Vinegar
  • ✓ Laundry Detergent
  • ✓ Vacuum

Step 1: Take off the bedding.

Once you remove the bedding, put that into the washing machine as soon as you can. Otherwise, the urine stain might set, and it would be hard for you to eliminate that later.

If the bedding still stinks after washing, add a cup of distilled white vinegar. Then, spin the washer again.

Step 2: Blot the mattress.

While the bedding is still in the washer, grab a clean towel and blot the peed area. Try not to put much pressure, or else the urine will push through further the fibres mattress.

When that happens, only a professional mattress cleaning expert like us could thoroughly remove the urine residue.

Step 3: Spray vinegar solution on the peed area.

To make a vinegar solution, you need to mix two to three tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent, a cup of distilled white vinegar, and two cups of cold water in a spray bottle.

Be sure you shake it well before spraying the vinegar solution on the peed area. .

The reason behind this mattress cleaning services tip in Singapore is to remove the urine stains and the foul smell the mattress has.

Step 4: Let it soak.

After spraying the vinegar solution on the peed area, let it soak.

You have to wait for at least ten to fifteen minutes before blotting it with another clean towel. Make sure there is no excess liquid left.

Step 5: Sprinkle some baking soda.

Doing this would allow the baking soda to absorb the damp area. It also gives your mattress the deep cleaning it needs. To guarantee that, you have to let the baking soda sit there for eight to ten hours.

While waiting, keep your pet and child away from the mattress. Let them play somewhere else so they would not make a mess with the baking soda.

Step 6: Vacuum the dry baking soda.

Once eight to ten hours have passed, clean off the dry baking soda with the vacuum cleaner.

After that, check if your mattress still smells like your child’s pee. If there is a slight stench, repeat the entire process. Or you could bring the mattress to us and let us expert of mattress cleaning in Singapore wash off the pee for you.
